Media effects are what affect the way we think think, the way we behave, or our attitudes toward a certain issue or topic from being exposed to the media. It can have a massive change in the way of perceiving other individuals in our communities and societies, these changes in attitudes can be negative or positive ones. As well as adding to changes in the way we perceive things, our constant exposure and time spent with media tend to reflect the effects of it on our daily lives, as in spending time watching tv instead of using time better and doing something productive. By having such a major effect on society media can influence the why we react to certain situtations, the opinions we may have on certain issues, and the emotions we may feel when we see things happen or when we hear something.
September 11 shows us the media's effect on how many Americans perception of the muslim world change within a matter of a few months. The focus on Islamic radicals helped change Americans attitudes towards Muslims, Fox News played a major part in this with there focus on how crazy and out of control these people are. The use of "scare tactics" helped change the American peoples perception of Muslim people being just like everyone else to all Muslims are bad and dangerous. All the negative coverage that was focused on Muslims has not only affected Muslims but all people fromm the Middle East as well nice that is where the media was telling the American people these radical terrorist came from. So now automatically Americans have this instilled fear that when they see some one who looks like they are from the Middle East on a plane this whole fear of "They might blow up the plane" comes out and people tend to feel they have to watch them the whole flight so that nothing happens. This on going issue is and effect of how media effects are able to change an entire nation and put it in a stay of fear and anger.
